Why my wedding ring kicks so much ass

ring

This video from Current_ made me remember why I love my wedding ring so much. Aside from the small, conflict-free brown diamond and the eco-friendly gold, the fact that it was purchased from an independently owned boutique in our neighborhood AND the fact that it was handmade…..Chris didn’t have to decide between it and paying rent. I F-ing LOVE it and wouldn’t trade it for any zillion dollar piece of jewelry. Same goes for Chris.

Here’s the Video!

R.I.P. 1995 Nissan Sentra…

While we love our cute, new, practical, fuel efficient Yaris, it was with heavy hearts that we bid a fond farewell to the beloved Nissan.  If Chris asks, the tow truck driver was taking it to a family who has lots of non-operational cars way out in the country…

Love Nest

So today Chris is sick, and like the loving wife-to-be that I am, I folded down our couch and constructed a sort of sick nest for him.  Note the quilt, nasty bathrobe and requisite mug o’ broth.  The laptop and remote are out of frame, but certainly within arms reach – don’t worry.

I do find it just a wee bit curious that his sick day coincides with the first game at the new Yankee stadium, but the nose-blowing sounds from the shower lead me to believe he’s not faking it.

As many of you know, I simply don’t get sick.  I just don’t.  I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by either sticky, gooey children or other people’s used silverwear, so bring it on!  Chris seems to think he only gets sick when I don’t cook for him…..riiiiiight.  Looks like somebody should’ve licked more subway poles growing up……..

A face only everbody and their mother loves

I think I’ll end up enjoying having a dog more than I could ever enjoy having a child.  Our dog Calliope is most likely the result of some kind of scrappy-dog love fest.  She could be black lab and some sort of wire haired terrier or maybe a brunette miniature Irish wolf hound mixed with Griffon…

Whatever the case may be, there is this weird pleasure I get when people walk by and point and laugh at her face.  Plus since I didn’t genetically create the dog I don’t have to say, “Thank you” when people say how cool looking she is.  I just get to gush right along with them.  You just don’t get that kind of satisfaction with a child.

Damn Yankees

So I just set up this blog so Chris and I can share info about our upcoming wedding (and also so I can learn how to blog).

It’s 1:30pm on a Friday and I’ve been trying to type this one paragraph for what feels like 6 hours. images

Chris ordered the MLB Extra Innings package through Time Warner cable and his baseball obsession is in full swing.  It’s not just his real-life, blaring-TV baseball obsession that’s interrupting my severely underdeveloped writing process…it’s also the FANTASY baseball world that’s cramping my style.  He literally gets the shakes if he doesn’t check his fantasy stats with OCD regularity.  Just as I typed that he asked if he could “jump on for a sec.” Sheesh.
